Motivators.

TRIBE CALLED QUEST wrote a really dope song about MOTIVATORS.

My main motivation to lose weight is the idea that I have control over a self fulfilling end result!

I’ve always despised running, until recently. I went for a “run” with my friend Kim, and 5 minutes into the run, she informed me that I was running far too fast for her to keep up, let alone for me to keep up with myself. Hence why I usually burned out super quick.

Since this revelation, I’ve been jogging a lot. Slowly, steadily, reminding myself to pull back and take it down a notch when my mind pushes ahead of my pace.

So far, so good.

Mi Casa

Today, the wind makes long sighs outside and branches shimmy, mixing evergreen with auburn.

The smoke from the chimney wisps past the windows and you wonder if the power might fail.

With this view up here - just the middle of the trees and the power lines in sight - you could be anywhere. Canada, America, Sweden, New Zealand…

You pretend for a bit; you’re able to go wherever the wind takes you. It’s not often these chances arise in your life, but you could catch a ride on the breeze and end up somewhere else. Somewhere with a different view, or somewhere with this same view.

For now, this view is perfect. You’re anywhere and everywhere, at home.

“
Loneliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. And intelligent, sensitive person is the exception, the very great exception. If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you’ll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way” — White Oleander (via notsoplainemilyjane)

Punning With the Night

Last night, a friend texted me the following: “We pushed a piano off the wharf. What we learned is that pianos FLOAT.”

The following is the remainder of our text convo.

Pardon the puns.

Actually, don’t. They’re there on purpose.
